Plastering in Blackpool
Plastering across Blackpool (FY1, FY2, FY3, FY4), about 15 minutes down the road from our Thornton-Cleveleys base.
Plastering for Blackpool Homes
We're plasterers as well as renderers, and Blackpool gives us plenty of both. Inside the older terraces and former guest houses you'll find original plaster that's had a century of knocks, damp and patch jobs. We re-skim tired walls and ceilings, board out where the old backing has had it, and leave a flat, clean finish ready for paint.
We cover internal and external plastering across the town, from a single ceiling to every room in a renovation. Skimming, plasterboarding, patch repairs after rewires or leaks, and outside work too. If you're pricing up a bigger job, one team for the plastering and the rendering keeps it simple: one quote, one firm to deal with.

- Blown old plaster on solid brick walls, especially in the pre-war terraces
- Damp-stained plaster near the seafront that needs the cause sorting before any skim
- Artex ceilings people want boarded or skimmed flat
- Walls so far out of true that boarding makes more sense than a skim
- Chases and patches left behind after rewires
If you're pricing up plastering in Blackpool, send a few photos of the room and we'll give you a straight answer on whether it needs a skim, a re-board or something more.
Where We Cover in Blackpool
No two Blackpool streets hand us the same job. Near the front you've got Victorian terraces and former guest houses, big solid-brick buildings taking salt and wind straight off the Irish Sea. Head inland through Marton and Layton and it turns into street after street of pebble-dashed semis and 1930s bays. Grange Park has plenty of council-built stock with rendered and dashed walls of its own. Different houses, same story: the coatings on a lot of them are decades past their best.
Few places punish walls like this one. Seafront elevations take salt spray and driving rain for most of the year, and it finds every crack. Old cement render goes brittle, blows away from the brick and lets damp track through. That's why so much of our Blackpool work is stripping tired pebble dash and blown render, then re-rendering with modern systems made for the coast.
We work right across Blackpool, including South Shore, North Shore, Marton, Layton and Grange Park, and out into the surrounding towns and villages.
Postcodes we cover: FY1, FY2, FY3, FY4.

Plastering Questions
It depends on the state of the walls more than anything. A re-skim over sound plaster costs a lot less than hacking off, reboarding and skimming from scratch. Rather than quote blind, we look at the job and give you a free written quote, usually within 48 hours, so you know the full price before we mix a bag.
Usually, yes. If the old surface is sound and well stuck we can prep it and skim straight over, which keeps the cost and the mess down. If it's blown, damp or crumbling, skimming over it just hides the problem for a year or two. We'll check it properly and tell you which one you're dealing with before we quote.
You need to let it dry out fully first. Fresh plaster turns from dark to a pale, even colour as it dries, often around a week depending on the room, the season and how much heat and airflow it gets. Paint it too early and you seal moisture in. When we finish we'll tell you when it's safe to get the rollers out.
